Specializing in curating and promoting the best of African music, DJ Chineezy has carved out a niche in the global music scene, celebrating the diverse sounds and cultures of the continent.
One of DJ Chineezy’s endeavors is to showcase the vibrant music of Africa by creating an annual mix series of the year’s top Afrobeat hit tracks from across the continent.

Creative Direction, Cover Artwork
While the cover designs for the Best of 2022 and 2020 mixes were purely artistic endeavors, tackling the cover artwork for the Best of 2023: Detty December Mix and Best of 2021: Amapiano Mix introduced a fresh challenge.
December is synonymous with festive reunions, music concerts and events in Nigeria. Wanting to capture this energetic atmosphere, I utilized the AI image creation tool, Midjourney, to craft initial images and blend them seamlessly using Photoshop, resulting in the vibrant cover artwork for the Best of 2023 Mix.
Amapiano is a genre of music that originated in South Africa in the early 2010s. It is known for its infectious beats and danceable rhythms, making it a popular choice in clubs, parties, and festivals across South Africa and beyond.
The genre gained international recognition in 2021, and DJ Chineezy created a Mix to reflect the success of Amapiano music that year.
Inspired by the distinctive elements from its origin, I devised a concept that merged the South African flag with the keys of a piano keyboard.
